A few blocks away, the Tree House Tavern offers an innovative menu that changes seasonally and focuses on fresh ingredients. Small plates of bar food favorites infused with local flare, inventive salads and hearty large plates round out the offerings. Be sure to try their Rhode Island Clear Chowder, a rich broth brimming with bacon and herbs with clams, done right.
For a quick fix the area has a few chains like Dick’s Sporting Goods, Target and Barnes and Noble on the Bald Hill Rd stretch of Route 2. For something sweet, Dear Hearts Ice Cream has multiple locations around Warwick (Pawtuxet Village, Norwood, and Wildes Corner) serving soft serve, cups and cones as well as milkshakes.
Nightlife
There are a variety of nightclubs and bars in Warwick that provide endless entertainment. Sing your heart out at karaoke, test your trivia skills, or laugh the night away at comedy shows. If you’re feeling more energetic, dance the night away at one of Warwick’s many DJ nights.
The Met is a popular club that provides high-energy music for its patrons. The venue offers two upscale lounges and a beautiful outdoor patio, perfect for special events. There are also several cocktail bars and delicious food to make the experience even more memorable. Guests can also enjoy the ambiance and listen to live bands and singers.
This is a decent local bar on Post Road, serving tasty beer at reasonable prices. The staff is a little unorganized and not really beer savvy, but the prices are low enough that you can afford to be picky. The menu has spicy wraps, fries, pizza, and burgers to satisfy your cravings.
Museums
If you’re looking for a break from the beach and the shops, Warwick’s museums will provide a welcome respite. Find a new appreciation for the city’s history at a museum or reinvent your artistic aesthetic at one of Warwick’s art galleries.
If the weather is warm, the kids will love a visit to Rocky Point Blueberry Farm. It offers Pick Your Own blueberries July through August.
You can also take in some of Warwick’s spectacular natural scenery at Goddard Memorial State Park. The park is Rhode Island’s most popular metropolitan park and has a lot to offer, including golf courses, open fields, scenic beaches, a nature center, and more.
The non-profit Clouds Hill Victorian House Museum is a great place to experience the late nineteenth century, with ties to three of Rhode Island’s famous textile families. The Gamm Theatre showcases a wide array of theater performances that range from classical productions to contemporary plays. The historic Apponaug Village has a museum that reveals artifacts from the area’s very early beginnings.
